This documentary will investigate the current challenges to accessing abortion, particularly in vulnerable communities, and why some people find self-managed abortion an empowering alternative. We will highlight organizations providing resources and information allowing individuals to self-manage their abortions safely. Experts will chronicle the history of the abortion pill and why it is an important and revolutionary technology that has been hampered by FDA regulations. We will focus on the criminalization of self-managed abortion and why over-policed and marginalized communities are particularly at risk. Lastly, we will explore abortion during COVID-19 and how telehealth has become more normalized for abortion services.
